Competition For Campfield
Via Adam Groves we learn that Stacey Campfield, everyone’s favorite blogging representative, will have comp again in the Republican primary:
Tommy Prince , a former two-term member of the Knox County school board, attended a recent session of the “Campaign 101” course designed to recruit and advise candidates to get involved in local politics.
Prince, a Republican, said he is weighing a race against state Rep. Stacey Campfield next year. Campfield’s often controversial stands on issues and confrontational style earned him an opponent in both the Republican primary last year and a Democratic opponent in the general election.
Prince said he is talking to potential supporters, and that he came to the workshop because he wanted to brush up on current campaign requirements and campaign tactics, since he left office in 2000. One of his primary interests is mental health treatment—or the lack thereof.
Channel 8?
With Brian Kelsey keeps rivaling Campfield in the stuntbaby legislative tactics pretty soon Campfield won’t seem like the loose cannon of the legislature anymore and this endless suplly of opponents for the incumbent from Knoxville will dry up a bit.

Considering his last Primary opponent was crushed, I’m not terribly worried.

Its interesting how there seems to be a certain segment of the GOP in Tennessee who thinks more of Jimmy Naifeh than they do conservatives within their own party. Your probably right though David about Campfield. But still he had better not let his guard down net year. We saw what happened to Jerome Cochran last year. A Naifeh Republican defeated him.

Campfield is a thoughtful, true conservative. He is one of the few that knows what’s going on and asks the right questions. He represents his constituents well.

Campfield is thoughtful????? That is an oxymoron. Look it up. The voters in Campfields district and the voters in Senator Ophelia Ford’s district deserve what they get for voting them in…..absolutely NO representation.
