Former state senator Kathryn Bowers was sentenced to 16 months in prison and 2 years supervised release for accepting $11,500 in bribes for her legislative influence.
The 64-year-old Democrat was one of a dozen elected officials or aides convicted in the FBI’s Tennessee Waltz undercover investigation into public corruption.

Nonsense…if she were a Republican, she would’ve been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. She was let off easy because she was a Democrat.
